Privacy Policy

Goodkeep is built to work without knowing who you are. There are no ads, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics, and we never sell data.
Without an account
- Scans stay on your iPhone.
- Barcode lookups. To identify a product, the app sends its barcode to Open Food Facts, a nonprofit open database, and to Goodkeep's server to check labels other people confirmed. Like any web request, these include your IP address. Goodkeep doesn't keep it.
- Camera and photos. When you scan a barcode or a package's labels, the image is processed on your device and never uploaded. Only the labels found (for example "Certified Humane") are sent, with the barcode.
- Label reports. When you read a package's labels, the barcode and labels are sent to Goodkeep with a random ID created for this install, stored only as a one-way hash, so one phone counts once when confirming a label.
- Shared results. When you share a result, the product's name, brand and score are stored to make the link work. Nothing about you is included.
- Problem reports and support messages contain what you write, and an email address only if you give one.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes or freezes, iOS gives it a technical report (where in the code it happened, the iOS version and device model), which it sends to Goodkeep so we can fix it. It contains nothing about you.
With an account
Accounts are optional and use Sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple user ID, and your name and email address if you choose to share them (Apple can hide your email behind a relay address). We store your scan history and the kinds of products you buy so they can be restored on another device.
Where data is kept
Goodkeep's server and database run on Cloudflare in the United States. Sign-in sessions are stored only as hashes.
Deleting your data
Delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete Account. It removes your account, sessions, synced scan history and the label reports made while signed in, immediately and permanently. Uninstalling the app removes everything kept on your iPhone. For anything else, contact us.
Children
Goodkeep isn't directed to children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We'll update this page when anything changes and note the date above.
